Eligibility Criteria
1. All nominees living or deceased must have served Lionism for at least ten (10) years. In addition, the Lion/Lioness must have served honorably, faithfully, and with due diligence. All living nominees must be current members in good standing.
2. In order to nominate a candidate, the club must agree in writing to provide the necessary funds to purchase the plaque(s) for its nominees.
3. The nomination letter of not more than two (2) typewritten pages (double spaced) must be signed by the club President, must name the Lion (address and telephone), must list his/her accomplishments in Lionism and in his/her comunity, must list with dates any awards or recognition in Lionism, must list with date any leadership positions in Lionism, must include a statement of endorsement by his/her Lions Club and the date, and must include a statement of intention to be present at the annual 18-D District Rally, if possible (illness). The nomination of any candidate not selected may be updated and resubmitted in subsequent years.
4. The applications must be postmarked no later than September 15 and sent to the current President of the Past District Governor's Association, District 18-D. A selection comittee composed of the three (3) most recent active Past District Governors (the most recent active PDG is chair), will submit selected candidates to the District Governor for recognition and presentation of a plaque at the annual 18-D District Rally.
5. The selection committee must complete the selection process by October 1st. At that time the home clubs will be billed for the total cost of the plaque and must pay by October 15th to allow PDG President sufficient time to order the plaques for presentation at the District Rally.
Nomination Categories
A. All 18-D Past International Directors living and deceased may be automatically selected, provided their club nominates and agrees to purchase the plaque.
B. Past District Governors who have served District 18-D may be nominated by the home club regardless of that club's current district designation.
C. Each Lions Club having served in District 18-D may submit two (2) nominees, living or deceased, annually for possible induction into the Lions Hall of Fame.
